Very local. Minneapolis kid, played for De LaSalle in HS and eventually the Gophers (after transferring from NW). Was also an assistant at Northern Iowa, so he's got a good grasp of the region.
 





God damn he is going to be huge for local recruiting. You can tell he loves the U.
 


When Ben talks about Williams Arena, he's so sincere - not just some vacuum cleaner salesman. You can only get that from an alum who has a true love for the program.

Gotta loves these type of posts. Guy hasn't coached a game yet for Minnesota but he is already moving on.
 

Is anyone else having trouble getting that video to play? I can't get through the commercial lead in.

What's wrong with jamiche's post? Pitino will eventually move on, either through retirement or a different job. Get used to it.
 

Maybe, just maybe, Coach Pitino's goal was to reach an upper echelon level coaching job in an upper level conference called the Big Ten, and will be here for twenty, thirty years?

Those of you who think the University of Minnesota doesn't fit in both of those two uppers are never gonna be happy.
 



Its so refreshing to hear things like "you can't sell what you don't have" and "there's not much you can do about it if they are so caught up in [the practice facility] that they don't see all the other positives.

Yes, Tubby was waiting for a practice facility and never got it. This coaching staff isn't waiting for it. If it happens, great. If not, oh well. Thats exactly the attitude we don't get enough of around here.
