RUMOR: Tubby signed an extension with Minnesota

Would seem plausible except for the 'hiring freeze' I thought Bruinicks implemented? Wasn't this given as an excuse for stopping Brewster's extension?

Of course, it would be perfectly reasonable to me to make an exception for Tubby that you won't make for Brewster, but there maybe some in the athletic department who would not appreciate that.

He signed 7 year deal (about $2 million per year) in 2007. He has 5 years left on it.

I'd think he'll retire by age 65 (in 2016).
