He recognized early on that Monson wasn't the right fit and had no patience for the excuse makers. He would have called Tubby out a couple of years ago when he first started pointing fingers.
 

Then you weren't paying attention. 4 had no time for anyone that questioned Tubby. It was weird considering his hatred of Monson.
 

How hard could it be to simply hire the best coach in the country, and get the best recruits in the country to come here, and then coach brilliantly all the time and beat all the loser teams in the suckass big ten?!

We'll never know, of course, but I honestly don't believe that he would have approved of the job that Tubby is doing and, more importantly, his continual finger pointing when things go wrong. G4 was big on accountability.

It's damn hard to do and you don't reward people who each year seem to be one step farther away from that standard of excellence with a new contract.
