Not keeping track of the other conferences, but games involving the Big 10 are averaging 133.36 points per game. Averages out to be games in the mid to high 60's. Not quite games in the 50's like the talking heads would have you believe were going to occur.

By game?
Purdue-Washington (150)
Illinois-WKU (148)
OSU-Siena (146)
Sparty-USC (143)
Sparty-Bob Morris (139)
Gophers-Texas (138)
Michigan-Oklahoma (136)
Michigan-Clemson (121)
Bucky-FSU (120)
Purdue-UNI (117)
Bucky-Xavier (109)

Take out Wisconsin

and the Big Ten is an offensive powerhouse. Perhaps there is something to teams knowing each other well and stopping them from scoring.

In the several games I have seen over championship week and the first weekend of the tournament, it does appear that there is not as much defense being played in some other conferences as there is in the Big Ten.
