Tubby Smith says he plans to stay at U of M for "a very, very long time"

The good folks in Virginia have already begun the spinning of these comments as nothing more than "coach-speak" and are convinced he's beating down their door....:cool:

Apparently, Tubby is going to have to beat them off with the proverbial stick in order to get them to look in another direction. It's actually kind of amusing.

Still and all, there are absolutely no signs that Tubby is talking with Virginia or any other school. Sounds like he's about as committed to the Gophers as ever. I think it might be time to look forward to next season because it promises to be a big one in Gopher basketball!!!:)
 

I take Tubby at his word - he's here for the long haul. He didn't have to say what he did and the fact that he initated the comments says a lot IMO.

I think Tubby loves "The U" and "The Barn" more than he ever thought he would.
