The University of Minnesota and the Gophers men’s hockey program will honor the U.S. National Junior Team that earned gold at the 2013 IIHF Junior World Championships last weekend in Ufa, Russia during the first period of tonight’s matchup between the No. 1 Gophers and the No. 2/3 Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Tuesday’s matchup is set for a 7 p.m. CT puck drop.

Minnesota freshman defenseman Mike Reilly and assistant coach Grant Potulny, as well as Notre Dame freshman forward Mario Lucia, will be acknowledged for their roles in helping the U.S. program top defending tournament champion Sweden in the gold medal game.

Fans can participate in the ceremony by tweeting congratulations to the U.S. team using the #PrideonIce hashtag. Select tweets will be posted on the Mariucci Arena scoreboard throughout the night.
