that there was a parole officer on the radio today saying that this is standard procedure. There are roughly 1,550 offenders in the state that run that range from people who have molested children and have committed murder. You don't hear an outrage about this.
I think what she did was terrible but she did the time, get over it. It is too bad about the woman who was killed was in a cult (Seventh Day Adventist) and was never able to have an intervention.

so does she. You can hate what she did and rightly so but there's no argument that she's a current danger to society, unlike much of the low life we don't bat an eye at their return. As a woman, I don't give a rats ass that she will be free - I don't have to worry about my pregnant daughter around her, and I don't have to worry she's going to take a knife to me or anyone else in a dark alley, parking ramp, etc.
Its interesting the venom people have toward women who break the law.

Its interesting the venom people have toward women who break the law.More interesting IMO is the position that Pawlenty and other Minnesota Republicans took this year. Last year they didn't say boo about having her return to Minnesota (when she was erroneously and prematurely released).
All of a sudden the Republicans wish to revise the Interstate Compact (which Pawlenty has had the ability to change for six years). If the St Paul Police Federation is so exercised about this, why have they not asked for Pawlenty to revoke Minnesota's participation in it prior to Olson's release?
Another query: how many Minnesotans mistakenly think Olson fired the shots that killed Mrs. Opsahl?

Kicking a pregnant woman in the stomach is never right, grand larceny or not.

she went to trial, complied with the sentence. She's a menace to no one. It's time to respect our system and move on. All the rest is just politics. there are more important things going on.

Why would he do that?!
What we have is a difference in emphasis on what prison is for: punishment and deterrence or protecting society/rehabilitation (although I think few suffer from the illusion that rehabilitation is happening).
Both have been satisfied. Move on.
