Predict the score for Tuesday's game against the Virginia Cavaliers. Tip-off is at 8:30 and predictions must be submitted by 4PM Tuesday. Bear in mind that Virginia has suffered two back-to-back losses against Liberty (at home) and Syracuse (there). And this should be the first real test of the Gophers ... I'd consider the CSU game more of a quiz than a test :)
You win if you pick the exact score -- but that's happened only once in the 36 gqmes when we started this competition last season. Otherwise, whoever picks the winning team and is closest to the exact score wins. (See Small Print for how that's calculated.)
Please note that your prediction must be in this format:

Even if you think the Gophers will lose, please put the Gopher score before the opposing team score ... I try to automate the data entry process as much as possible and thus need your prediction in the right order for the macros to work. And please put your moniker (or screen name) at the start of the prediction.
If everyone uses their moniker, this format and consistent names for the teams, it's easy and fast to transfer the data to a spreadsheet used to track predictions. You should check the summary for your prediction to make sure it has been included and check this thread for any notes to those who have predictions that cannot be counted.
And even if you don't win, you'll garner valuable points in the Predict the Score Contest as long as you pick the winning team (see "Small Print" below).

Predict the Score rules:
- whoever picks the exact score and winning team wins. If more than one person picks the exact score and team, the person who first chose that score wins.
- if nobody picks the exact score, the person who predicted the winning team and whose prediction is closest to the actual score wins. The closest pick will be calculated by subtracting the predicted scores from each team's actual score. The absolute value of those differences shall determine the total variance.
- If two or more have the same variation between their projected scores and the actual scores, the closest to the exact winning team's score wins.
- If there is still a tie, the person who first entered the contest wins.

After the results are tallied for each game, points are awarded to those who made predictions based upon how close the actual score is to the predicted scores:
15 points will go to the First Place winner(s)
10 points will go to Second Place
7 points to Third Place
5 points to Fourth Place
3 points to Fifth Place
1 point if you pick the winning team but failed to placeIf there are two or more with the same difference between actual and predicted score, each will get the points provided that all predicted the winning team. Standings are published after every game and following the announcement of that game's Predict the Score contest winner.
