Tubby says he didn't "give" Bostick minutes, he earned them!

I love this comment from Tubby:

-- A reporter asked Smith about "giving" junior guard Devron Bostick minutes Wednesday against Eastern Washington. Smith responded by saying that he didn't give Bostick anything, but he earned it. Bostick, who had been struggling this season, scored a season-best 11 points, but Smith said it was his improvement on defense that was most impressive.

"He did the things he had to do," Smith said after practice Friday. "I don't give anything to anybody. No one ever game me nothing, so I don't give them nothing. They have to earn every minute they get."

That's where I see the biggest difference, too - his defense. I didn't want to say anything negative early on, but I was underwhelmed with Bostick's perimeter defense in the first couple games. Lackadasical is what I'd call it. That's changed big time since then.
