Horrible game by tOSU. The big guy with 9 turnovers and he played like he didn't give a rats ass.

Man does he whine a lot. Wow.

Game plan for tOSU, force them to take tough jump shots and play as physically as possible with Sullinger, even better if you can do it without fouling. This team lacks composure outside of Craft, players and fans need to get inside their head and get them frustrated.

"Sullinger is overrated".. someone on this board stated that last year... and was ripped for it..

let me search the threads from last year to find out who that was..
give me a minute.

Never said he was over rated. He just cries a lot and lacks composure, still a pretty good player though.

I don't think we had much of a chance to beat OSU before this game. I now think we have even less as they are going to be T'd off.

Right, you'd think the Gophers have no shot with tOSU now challenged for the B1G lead and top 5 national rating. They present major, major match up problems with Sullinger, and we saw what happened when the Trevorless Gophers faced MSU's muscle.

So, what is the Gopher's shot? They have to turn OSU's ace into Sulkinger. EE will have to body up on him. We will have sag, deny and double.

Can the Gophers play a less than 10 TO game? It's been rare, I'm sure someone can find that stat. That's what they will need and they MUST make OSU run and work for everything (as MSU did today). OSU really plays an iron 5, substituting briefly. This is where Tubby's 10 man philosophy, particularly at home if the barn rocks, can make a difference if the tempo and intensity are there (without those gosh awful lulls) and the shots fall.

Let's face it, the two losses at home to IA then Purdue, put the Gophers behind the 8 ball - the team won't likely get to 9-9 without avoiding another two home loss losing streak, making an upset here a premium. (Otherwise they's be forced to win 4 of 5). It will take a monumental performance.

Yeah...it would suck to have him on the Gophers.

+1. I was really trying to root for OSU for this reason. But man I hate Matta and love Izzo. I couldn't do it.

I'm not sure they retain the posts of a jackmole that gets escorted off the premises, do they, baller?

I didn't think the gophers would have a good shot at picking these guys off but watching that MSU game made me think about it. I know there is no answer for sullinger unless EE can come in and use his 5 fouls which i wouldn't be surprised to see happen. If the gophers lock up the perimeter and shoot well they'll be in the game. If by some miracle they stop Sullinger from killing them it's game on!! That's why they play the games.

The Chipster need to have a good game. I guess against the Badger's he was fighting the flu bug.

Well Thomas, Buford and Smith a combined 5-28. I'd put it more on them than Sullinger. I just can't see Sampson or EE even slowing down Sullinger. I'm guessing both will be in foul trouble by the end of the game. Aw man I don't like this match up.

i say let EE use all 5 fouls against Sullinger. If the gophers can keep him in check and guard the perimeter they'll be in the game as long as they make a reasonable amount of shots themselves. Gophers are going to shoot a butt load of 3's against OSU, if they fall they'll have a shot.

Rest assured. He'll play like he gives a rat's ass on Tuesday. After having a relatively close game against Purdue and then losing to MSU, Thad Matta is going to have these guys ready to take out their anger on the Gophers. We can't afford to come out of the gates soft and slow like we usually do.

If OSU is angry and frustrated, we have a chance. Some guys play well angry, OSU plays like 12 year old girls who lost their Justin bieber CD.

If they are determined and efficient and composed we are in trouble.

This team is really really good, but they are not as good without lighty and diebler. Force them to shoot jump shots and pray Craft gets under 10 steals.

Hope you are right Scher, we have given up too many wins that we should have had, and we need to grab one of the ones we shouldn't pretty soon. This would be an enormous win for us and would put us back in a situation where we don't need to beat anyone with more than seven wins to get to 9-9.

I originally thought they'd get blown out. I still think they lose, but will be closer than I expected.

Indiana beat them with (basically) only zeller. But then I think back to their thrashing of Duke.

I have no idea what to expect any more, but with this Gophers team nothing would surprise me.

I fully expect to lose both games here (MSU and OSU) and then the best chance is to win out and I think they make the tourney then. Lose @ wisky tho and it'll be a sweaty selection Sunday (barring some wins in the BTT)

Not sure if it's a good thing they lost...but good thing this is at the Barn, that at least gives us a fighting chance. No way would I be shocked to see us win though, this team seems to have a tendency to play to whatever the level of competition is, so just like they'll struggle with Iowa, they will hang with teams they shouldn't.

Wasn't quite sure where to stick this, but it's just a couple minutes with Buford, Sullinger, and Matta discussing recovery from the loss to MSU and playing here tomorrow. Nothing earth-shattering, but I like to have the other side's perspective every now and then. OSU fans still despise us over 1972.
