Illinois had lost 12 in a row at home; 1-8 in the conference. Many of the losses were close games and the Illini have an extremely quick team. They shot 64%, but only 3-11 from 3 point range. Many of the points came on drives from the baseline and postup moves where they beat the Gophers to the spot in the lane. Much quicker that the the Gophers yet Borton continued to play person to person defense. At least in the second half she should have gone to 2-3 zone to force the outside shot. She wasted a good offensive game by the Gophers and specifically Buford. IMO her lack of adjusting the defense lost the game. Also, other than the pep band there couldn't have been a 100 fans there.

I just looked at the box score and there were only 667 people there!!!! That is HORRIBLE!

Bad loss indeed.

Go Gophers!!

Hopefully the new AD shows Borton the door. She has driven the program into the ground since the avalanche of players left. Without Banham they would be unwatchable.

Loved the person to person defense! You could be an administrator at the U. Passed your gender neutral classes. Thanks for the laugh.

They're still pretty unwatchable, even with Banham out there. Borton has been abysmal the past few years and definitely needs to be replaced.

Sadly they have the talent to beat the number 9 team in the land. But not the coaching to get them up for the bottom feeder programs.

Or.....

Is it the other way around? No .... I don't think it's the other way around:(
