Man, we really need someone to make it big in the NBA soon. It's kind of pathetic that our biggest NBA 'star' is Humphries, who is nothing but a dime a dozen bench player who dated/married a chick (who shouldn't even be famous) for a second. Hopefully Paul Carter becomes the next Wes Matthews. Hell maybe Joel Pryzybilla will make a comeback, anything to stop these stupid Humphries/Kardasian threads from popping up on GopherHole.

IMHO I think Mbakwe has the ability to succeed in the NBA, just need to get him healthy first

Vashon Leonard had an ok NBA career that lasted more then a couple years. That's considered making it.

Bobby Jackson was 6th man of the year (at least once, can't remember if multiple times or not)
 

Kris Humphries was much more than a dime a dozen bench player last year, he was very good. That said, I agree that it's been way too long since the last Gopher star in the NBA. It's kind of amazing that someone who is famous for a sex tape with the brother of a pop star has acquired as much of a fanbase as Kardashian has.

Accomplishments/talent don't make you famous anymore.
 

I appreciated all the KG hate in the comments on the original article. His contract and personnel demands left the Wolves in a terrible situation for years before he left. Since then the Wolves made their own bad decisions.
 



Is anybody really surprised by this? As far as I know, there's never been a good thing said about the guy...

I may be wrong but I remembered reading an article that said he was going to get an offer from Kansas for college bball but when he went to visit he was a jerk and the teammates at Kansas told the coach not to offer him.
