Amelia Rayno blog: Sampson: "The leadership is more of a team thing"

Nice job by Ralph dodging the leadership topic. A "team" thing? Come on. You can't knock his on-court execution, but as the lone senior on the court it's imperative that he step up and provide some foundation. This is frustrating for a few reasons, but the fact that he's aware that the team needs leadership and refuses to be the guy is even more aggravating.

This is hilarious just because going into the season (during Gopher Media day) they were streaming video online and he (along with other players) was interviewed by Grimm. The main thing that he kept emphasizing was that he and Trev were going to be the senior leaders, the guys that have to step up and lead the team. One of Ralph's main points was that he was definitely , w/o a doubt, going to be a more vocal of a player to lead the team. #whiff.

I don't know if it was his sore ankle

but it struck me several times in the last game how much Ralph looked like Robert Parish (Celtic great) running up the floor. Very upright, shuffling gate without much length to the stride. It didn't hurt that they share the same stoic manner. Now if we can get Ralph to play like "the Chief." We're going to need more from the post in Big Ten play.
