Espn is running a program segment in which each state has four individuals picked as the all time best sports persons from their state. From my state Mohamed Ali is the only sure bet I can think of and since I know very little about Minn. I wonder which four sports figures others believe should be represented on ESPNs mount rushmore of sports from Minnesota?

I think they already picked Minnesota's and it was Kirby, Killebrew, Bud Grant and Herb Brooks.
I have no problem with Kirby and Killebrew, but I don't know how Bud Grant can be on the list and not Tom Kelly. TK brought us our only two modern day titles...Brooks is obviously a legend, but does one lose points for coaching France in the Olympics?! I would have to think that Neal Broten should be considered (one of the few, or maybe only, players to win titles in college, Olympics and NHL); and obviously no Minnesota Mt. Rushmore would be complete without George Mikan. We forget about him all too often in Minnesota because it was so long ago and we lost the franchise, but he played his entire NBA career here and won titles here and was voted the NBA's best player the first half of the century. If MJ is in Chicago's Mt. Rushmore (as I'm sure he is, obviously) then Mikan should be in ours.
Go Gophers!!

"Mount Rushmore of Sports," another stupid gimmick from ESPN, though not as idiotic as "Who's Now?" How I long for the days when they provided highlights on SportsCenter instead of garbage like this and wasting time on insight from "experts" like Mark Schlereth (barf).
