As a Gopher fan, who do you root for on Saturday between NE and WI?

On the one hand, (and just like when PSU entered the league in 1993), I don't want NE to feel like they can dominate the BigTen as some have suggested, and I certainly don't want them winning it all in year 1. They need to be shown it will be different in the BigTen, and they can't just walk thru their schedule.

On the other hand, it's WI. Some one needs to give them a beat down this year, and who will do it if NE does not?

This is a difficult one for me. I don't loathe NE, but I certainly don't want either of these teams winning it all this year.

I would rather Nebraska win. If Nebraska wins the B1G, it would suck as they are new to the conference, but I can tolerate their fans a lot more than I can Becky's fans. If WisconSIN wins, all you will hear is how good they are and are true National Championship Contenders and how much they deserve to play in championship game. So I would like nothing more than for Nebraska to beat the Badgers.

Nebraska, I don't care if they win every game they ever play in the BIG just as long as Wisconsin loses.

I'm not sure what the dilemma is - this a complete no-brainer. Go original Big Red - Nebraska.

UW will be favored in every game this year (OSU could be a pick-em) and therefore, they have a legitimate shot at playing in the national title game...and I firmly believe that for UW fans it should be national title game or bust, anything less should be considered a disappointing season for their program.

All the pieces of the puzzle are in place for UW to go undefeated and play in the national title game. The state of Wisconsin has had enough gosh dang sports success in the past 18 months, the last thing we need is for them to hoist the BCS title trophy.

Go Original Big Red!!

Gopher fans need to root for Wisconsin. If the Badgers go undefeated and win the National Title, it would be great for recruiting here.

Why would it be great for recruiting here?

I will NEVER root for sconnie to win. I hope Nebraska destroys them.

Wisconsin. Nebraska's 83-14 rubbing it in the noses of Gophers should not be forgiven.

But last year's 2 point conversion rubbing it in our nose should be forgiven?

Go Gophers!!

Easy! Go Big Red. I don't hate them nearly as much as Wisc.

THIS. One of these days it has to switch...right???

I'm pulling for the Huskers as they haven't given me enough heartache to hate them - just yet. I agree with a previous post that it appears Nebraska and possibly OSU are the only teams that appear to be standing in the way of Becky possiby playing in the National Championship game. Even if Nebraska beats Becky I don't think the Huskers are good enough to run the table in the BT. Just my take.

BTW: Has Wisconsin played a road game yet? My god it seems like they are always playing at home!

It's not. Before the Rose Bowl last year, there were a few posters around here who alleged that Wisconsin beating TCU would be good for the Gophers.

I totally agree, but be careful what you wish for as Nebraska fans are as over the top as any.

Wisconsin fans are the consumate d-bags home and on the road. I've been to Lincoln for a couple of games and the Nebraska fans were pretty
friendly

This is like asking me if I would rather win $5,000 at the casino or $5. It's Nebraska and it's not even close.

Nebraska. Watching Wiscy play for the National Title would be sickening, although the fact that they would lose 49-7 to (Insert SEC School here) would make it tolerable.

Nebraska without a second thought.

Wisconsin-Iowa is the only game where there should be a debate on who to root for if Wisconsin is involved.

Since we compete with WI for many of the same players I really don't get how this makes sense.

I first hope for a natural disaster, but then I root for NE, no question.

Obviously Nebraska. You should never cheer for Wisconsin unless their win means we clinch the conference or something, and even then it's questionable.

Agreed. I would love for the Huskers to beat Wisconsin, I do not want them going undefeated.

I remember last year when people here were seriously cheering for Wisconsin to win the Rose Bowl, that was ridiculous.

Ditto on pious preacher Tom's beatdown of the Gophers, 84-13. Pure cruelty. I hope Wisconsin (and other Big Ten teams) give Nebraska a rude welcome to the conference.

Agreed, even if it benefits us significantly cheering for Wisconsin makes me vomit. Since I have no love for Nebraska, ideally the game would result in a NE win but would also include a glorious display of Bo Pelini's childish temper.

I always want Becky to lose. Even when they play Iowa.

Tha means I want Iowa to win. Did I really say that? Guess so.

Better dead than the artifical red.Nebraska all the way.Hope they destroy them. But Bucky does match up well with Nebraska.
84-13 was a long time ago.Bielma is a smug,run it up jerk.

It won't matter. NE can not stop the Badgers balanced offense, actually, no one on the Badgers schedule can stop the offense. 38-21 badgers

Lesser of two evils.....huskers
