At least temporarily, Wisconsin drops a top-50 win from its resume, as Virginia Tech (#51) drops out of the top 50. For a multitude of reasons, Gopher fans would like to see Virginia knock off Virginia Tech in Charlottesville tonight. A Virginia win would solidify the 'Hoos (#92) as a top-100 win for the Gophers, while at the same time diminishing (even if only slightly) the Badgers' most significant nonconference victory. Stating the obvious here, but the Gophers-Badgers game two weeks from tonight is going to have major NCAA implications.

Thanks for this info. It makes the "Wisconsin is not going to make the tournament talk" much easier to deal with.

Badgers have two wins against top 50 teams, both at home against Illinois and Ohio State.
Not exactly an impressive resume.

They also have the 4th toughest schedule in the country and the 26th toughest non conference schedule in the country. They are also number 28 in the RPI. They have beaten two teams in the 50's or low 60's on the road and really only have one bad loss, unless you consider the Minnesota loss at home a bad loss, which I certainly do.

If the Badgers get to 10-8, they will absolutely be in the tournament, and they will not be in the infamous "last 4 in" category either. 10-8 seems likely, though the way they are playing, 11-7 certainly would not shock me.
