This team has not one player who can beat his man individually, and it's killing us. Look at today's game and compare the number of wide open three point attempts. Penn St. 7 or 8, Minnesota 1 (Hoffarber's make) maybe 2. This happens game after game and is a result of other teams ability to beat a man off the dribble, ever how slight. Today Pringle had three WIDE OPEN threes because Batttle was able to slightly get past his man forcing the defense to collapse/help.

There is no reason why the entire defense has to collape on a midget like Battle everytime he gets to the paint. Our big guys can contain him. It's enough that whoever was soppose the guard him, try to catch up. There is no point leaving 2 or 3 people wide open. A smart point like Battle will take advantage of this every time.

There are Gophers that can beat their man to the paint. Nolen can. Westbrook and Joseph can too. The problem is they make poor decision once they get inside.

Al Nolen can beat his guy but....will either turn it over or miss the layup
