D.J. Hebert, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound junior athlete from Osseo, has received four scholarship offers to date and is hoping earn an offer from Minnesota after attending their camp later this month. Hebert visited Minnesota during their Junior Day in late February. Gopher Hole.com caught up with Hebert earlier this week as the Orioles had a team camp to learn the latest on his recruitment.

Hebert is a fringe BCS player. Nice athleticism but lacks the elite speed and quickness you'd like to see from your BCS type athletes. He mentions that he will wait it out until the end of next season; I feel like if he were to pick up a BCS offer or two that this plan of action may hurt him. He definitely won't be a top guy on a lot of BCS team's boards, thus it would be easy for the team to get a verbal from another player at his position and have him be odd man out (See Fritz Rock 2009'). He is the type of player, IMO, that should make it decision rather quickly, as that offer window may not be open as long as is with the more elite players. Just my .02
