Gophers beat Michigan head-2-head and have same 6-7 record. Why Mich #5 and Gophers #7?

Sparty 2-2

Penn State 1-3

The only good thing about this is a second round match-up with Bucky.

Thanks SS.

Tiebreakers can get a little goofy... I'm thinking Michigan State has the advantage over Minnesota not because of them beating the Gophers... rather, it's due to Michigan State's record of 1-1 vs. Wisconsin being better than our 0-1 record against Becky. If Purdue beats Wisconsin at home tonight, I believe we'd actually jump in front of Michigan State, even though they beat us in our only matchup thus far this season.

Would love to get a rematch with them. Sucks that we only play them once in the regular season this year. I hate that.

Tiebreakers

Well, it is clear that our boys have their destiny in their own hands since 4 of the remaining 5 games are against this group, with the other v. NU.

Exactly ... that game would be great (Neutral court too)

And that game would be exactly 6 weeks and 2 days since Al Nolen's foot surgery.

And us up to 6 i believe, which still puts us in line to play bucky in teh 2nd round. but if we can win the games we should, i like our chances to finish 4th ahead of the illini since 3 of their next four are on the road at mich st., oh st., and purdue. i just hope we've found our post and hopefully pre-nolen identity and have the confidence to finish strong.

go gophs!
