Hmmm....Minnesota is 1-3 in the BT and lost to Virginia, Ohio St. struggled with Minnesota and Iowa, Mich St. lost at Penn St., Illinois lost to UIC, Purdue lost to Richmond...I guess Wisconsin is the only contender!!!

and the Badgers got beat by Notre Dame-- good thing the Golden Domers don't want to join the Big Ten or however many we are.
OSU not contenders? No. Duke lost to NC State and Georgia Tech last January, yet won the NC. Winning close games is still winning - I'll take OSU winning close over what happened this weekend to the likes of Kentucky, Missouri and Texas anytime. OSU just needs to do a better job of putting teams away - they had a 13-point lead on Iowa with 7 minutes left and a 18-point lead on the Gophers with about 8 minutes left, and then eased up and let the opponent get back in the game.

I would hope that, by this point in the Tubby era, we are much closer to tOSU than we are Indiana. A close win over a top 25 team at home is quite a bit different than a close win over a team that will likely finish 10th or 11th in the conference.

Based on their perfromance against MN, I think you are correct. They didnt impress me much at all.
Diebler can get hot at times, but he is far from automatic. A team with bigs can take away some of the Sullinger factor, as MN did today.

It is very early in the Big Ten Conference race...
However, as the games are completed, week by week and win by win as well as loss by loss, the number of Big Ten wins minus the Big Ten losses will tell us who contends and who pretends. With only four conference games completed, it is still entirely too early to tell. Yet, this will all start becoming very clear during the next few weeks of conference play. Easily, when seven to nine games have been completed for each conference member, it will start becoming evident how well or how poorly each team is playing, how well each team is coached, which teams defend and which teams play offense, which teams can convert free throws, which teams can take care of the ball and which teams can dig deeply and win close ball games. The most important element in making a run for a Big Ten Championship pretty much boils down to which team can win on the road in Big Ten play. It is a given that the home court advantage must be preserved, defended and maintained through out the Big Ten Season. So, obviously, being able to steal some wins on the road becomes essenial and will become very evident in the Big Ten win minus the Big Ten losses columns.
You may laugh and scoff at a system for evaluating Big Ten Basketball Prorams that looks entirely at the Big Ten wins minus Big Ten losses factor. But, really, in the end, what other form of comparison, contrast or discussion could possibly tell you any more? Just check the current standings: they show which teams are competing and which teams are not competing.
Here is eveything we know about the Big Ten Conference at this point in time:

Ohio St. is the second most talented team in the country. They let of the gas to early and had trouble turning it back on. Craft should start he is special. Buford was very quiet yesterday.
