What the hell happened at the end of the game?! The gophs seemed to just lose it. It was a 2 point game and regardless of the score it was a close game through and through. I only wish we could play at Williams. Guarantee gophs by ten.

Side thoughts:

Hoff got shut down by good guard play on the badgers side

Mbakwe didn't nearly look as good as he has looked

DJ looked relatively the same, which is actually promising

Rodney's first half looked just incredible...but like the commentators said he became an idle post player for way too long...wish his aggressiveness kept up.

As far as Sampson's points go, he was outplayed by far...and a lot of the Badger's points can be attributed to his poor D and bad choices in switching off the screen (he has no place defending jordan taylor).

Iverson looked slow and stupid (no offense) against some of the quicker players.

Our freshmen were border line sad...and looked clueless on D against the badgers when they ran several plays. The few minutes Mav played just made me want to vomit.

Overall: close game. Some of the calls were sketch,,,but they went both ways. If this team is gonna ball in the b10 we need both Rodney and Hoff to come and play. The deep 3 by Hoff and the aggressiveness of Rodney was a necessity for us to win but what was lacking in the second half. Shoulda won, coulda won, but so she goes...the gophs looked ready to play conference, but not quite ready to win away games.

Player of the game: Jordan Taylor

Gophers player of the game: Devoe (if you're gonna rag on him, bring something to rag on him about - his D wasn't the best...but he was the heart of the team for most of the game and picked up the point like he has played it all year).

On a side note: anyone betting on this game must've been disappointed with the end. Really Leuer? Hitting all free throws at the end to hit exactly on the 8 point spread?! Son of a b.

Mbakwe will not shoot the ball, unless it is a dunk it seems. He had many opportunities from 10-12 feet and would not take the shot.
