Way too early to draw any conclusions by comparing games but this one certainly does not look too good for the Gophers - at least at this point.

Looks like a big letdown game for the Rams

They had hyped up the Gopher game as a pretty big deal (thank you From the Barn: http://fromthebarn.org/2008/11/21/damian-johnson-returns-as-gophers-take-on-colorado-state/). Likely spent a lot of time preparing for the Gophs and just didn't show up to play tonight.

Bottom line. ...

Treasure any road win, no matter who it's against (unless it's against a non-DI'er like Concordia-St. Paul). A week or two ago Washington opened the season on the road at perennial WCC bottom-feeder Portland & lost. Last night Iowa State hit the road to play a bad Hawaii team & lost. I'm happy the Gophers won their only true road game of the nonconference schedule -- there's no such thing as an ugly road win -- and am hoping they can do the same with their only neutral-site game.

This probably didn't help

Colorado State was playing without its starting backcourt of senior guards Willis Gardner (left ankle sprain) and Marcus Walker (sore left ankle).

From his quotes Miles was none too pleased about how his squad prepped for the game.

A let-down game. They were probably too pumped to play us, and then couldn't get up for a DII school. It's not that big of a deal for us. If we had lost that game, though, this would look really really ugly.
