Since things have moved, I decided to start this thread anew via cut-and-paste. Please note that I've added two of the three games that originally did not have lines posted.

This game doesn't have a line published as yet; I'll either strike it or update it early Thursday morning. (If it's ot updated by 10AM Thursday, consider it stricken)If you want to change your pick, please add a new post rather than editing your original pick and note it's a change in the header. (It's easier to pick up and make the change this way.)

Even if you haven't made a pick yet, you're welcome to start at any time through 11/30/08. If you're not familiar with the way this works -- or want to check on the rules -- please review the Small Print (below). And, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Small Print
Here's the way Pick-per-Day (PPD) works:

1. You make one pick per day by selecting a team and the point spread that's offered.
For example, if Florida is favored by 22.5 points versus Toledo and you choose Florida, you pick Florida -22.5
If instead you think that spread is too generous, you pick Toledo +22.5

2. The pick must be in required format (see#5 below) and submitted by that day's deadline.

3. Picks on weekdays are usually due at 5:00 while picks on weekends and holidays will usually be due at 12 noon.

4. Please verify your pick was recorded when the posting is Closed and please check the next days tally to make sure I correctly credited you with the win or loss. Mistakes will happen and I'm more than happy to go back a day or two and figure out what went wrong and then make any corrections. But I really don't want to go back a couple of weeks and try to recalculate the wins and losses.

5. All picks must be entered using this format:

Moniker: Team and Spread
(e.g. MNSnowman: Minnesota +1)

Picks that are submitted after the deadline without making prior arrangements or do not use this format will not be counted in that days tally

6. If you want to change your pick, please add a new post rather than editing your original pick and please note it's a change in the header. (It's easier to pick up and make the change this way.

7. Later in the season, I may create two divisions to reflect those who participate regularly versus those who are more sporadic. This is done to reduce the likelihood of someone getting a relatively high winning percentage and resting on their laurels.

A losing night tonight, with the 21 who picked going just 8-13-0 (.381). That brings the cumulative record to 62-46 (.574) with 108 picks over the six days of PPD.

Today's consensus pick was Nebraska -3.5 -- Nebraska won handily 62-50. The consensus picks are now 6-2 (.750).

Other comments:
I didn't have faith in my Drake Bulldogs after their loss to Butler last weekend so stayed away from picking them today. (They won by 16 and were 15-point favorites over Morehead State). Instead, I picked Appalachian State and thank goodness they finally prevailed in double overtime (87-84). This is their second game and both have gone into overtime.

Wake Forest trounced UNC-Wilmington, 120-88. The Demon Deacons were favored by 17.5 points but shot 57% to extend their lead.

Clemson embarrassed Wofford with a 93-40 score (Wofford only shot 27% -- so maybe they embarrassed themselves.)

AllTimeTwinsFan (ATTF) finally posted a loss today ... while Jike reeled off two wins in a row ... and Zales is now blanked with three losing picks and no wins as yet. Word is he's going to shadow Jike's picks.

Snowman, I saw your post from yesterday, but only briefly, and can't remember the specifics. Please re-post your challenge, so all the board can verify your silliness in taking Drake over Vanderbilt on November 29. I believe there was Chipotle on the line...

Ahem. The leading theory on the Drake board is that new coach Phelps is either sand-bagging or over his head. Maybe both.

But, I'll stay with loyalty to my alma mater (plus as many points that Vegas gives).

The wager is the loser pays for dinner at Chipotle (corner of Oak and Washington) before either the 12/2 Virginia game (scheduled for 8:30 per GopherSports) or the 12/10 SDSU game (scheduled for 8:00).

An alternative would be loser pays for the Grand Margarita at Applebee's in the Radisson before the game. (Not sure if there's anywhere else handy that serves anything but beer in the area)
