that we held a Top 20 team to just 36 points????

This just might be a first, at least in the modern era.

Illinois shot like the Gophers did against Purdue.
 

As long as we keep up the good work on defense, Big Ten Championship contention could be in our sites

Alabama St. probably was the most recent opponent to score fewer points in a game 12 years ago. They scored 34 points which was more than enough to avoid a triple digit loss. The Gophers won by 80.
 

But that was not against a team like Illinois.
