I'm still convinced that the U/Maturi became somewhat of a trend-setter by firing Monson during the season in order to get a head start (head-hunting firm) in finding a new head coach. The fact that we landed a coach of Tubby's stature probably didn't hurt the cause. Seems like major universities are going more the professional route now with regards to firing (especially basketball) coaches -- not waiting until the end of the season -- much moreso than they used to.
