Of the Big 10's NCAA contenders (all except Iowa and Indiana), here's how their schedules break down from easiest to toughest based on opponents' conference winning percentage.

1. Northwestern (2-5) 31-45 (40.8) -- 6 home, 5 road
2. Michigan State (6-1) 34-42 (44.7%) -- 6 home, 5 road
T3. Ohio State (3-4) 36-41 (46.8%) -- 6 home, 5 road
T3. Wisconsin (3-4) 36-41 (46.8%) -- 6 home, 5 road
5. Purdue (4-2) 43-43 (50%) -- 6 home, 6 road
6. Illinois (5-2) 40-39 (50.6%) -- 5 home, 6 road
7. GOPHERS (5-3) 37-35 (51.4%) -- 5 home, 5 road
8. Penn State (5-3) 37-33 (52.9%) -- 4 home, 6 road
9. Michigan (4-4) 39-32 (54.9%) -- 4 home, 6 road

Northwestern is entering its biggest stretch of basketball games in quite some time. The Wildcats play 6 of their next 7 games at home, including a should-be nonconference D-I win over Chicago State. The only road game in the stretch is Iowa, arguably the most winnable road game in the Big Ten this season. NW plays Indiana, Wisconsin & Chicago State at home, then hits the road for Iowa City, before returning for another 3-game home stretch vs. Illinois, Michigan & Ohio State. If the Wildcats can win at least 4 of the Big Ten games during this stretch, they'll be in unchartered territory heading into their final 5 Big Ten games. ... legitimately in the hunt for a NCAA bid. I think they have a shot to do it, but let's see how they handle their recent success.
