KFAN: Gaardsy on the Gophers

The previous two entries in Gophers news were the day before/day of Brewster's firing, and prior to that, Signing Day?

Does KFAN take 2 minutes away from all-important Vikings/Childress talk tomorrow to mention Gophers hoops?

If the Gophers win, they will cover them. The gophs got their attention now. We will see how much coverage they get tomorrow.

I must have dozed off during the time Iverson was "manhandled".

Not if Chilly gets fired. That will warrant wall-to-wall coverage through Wednesday.

Wednesday? ..That will be the only thing they talk about ALL WEEK LONG!!! The Vikings are the only thing that exist on KFAN. That's because, as KFAN constantly points out, this is a Viking town.

What a bunch of bullcrap.

KFAN is SOOOOO Boring.

Here's the stretch I was talking about, when Iverson was the only real big guy out there. I think Trevor came back with about 9 minutes left, I can't remember exactly. WV got a few offensive rebounds and scored, all Iverson was doing at that point was complaining about getting pushed. He played a good game, don't get me wrong. The point was more about Trevor being smarter at that point, because he left Colton out there alone.

I guess I'm still not sure what you're referring to here Justin. I can't think of a single minute during the game, or any of the games for that fact, when Iverson/Sampson/Mbakwe/Walker were the only bigs on the floor.

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding what your point was.

By the way, you are actually enjoyable to listen to when you speak or give your own opinion and aren't playing sideman to Barrerio. You must know this. You can do better.

I do remember saying to myself we need Trevor back in there we are getting killed on the boards. Now, I don't know if Colt was getting manhandled or other players weren't pulling their weight.

Gaardsy is on track, blaming Colten is off base though.

There was a stretch in the 2nd half where WVA was killing us on the glass and I was begging for Trevor to come back in the game. After seeing his sequence listed, that was the same time period.

To pin the blame on Colten is misguided, Tubby chose to go small at the 3 for the last 5 minutes of the game in part because Rodney was getting beat on the offensive boards time and time again. I believe Colten and Walker were the bigs during that sequence and whoever was at the 3 (Williams or Hollins) was a non-factor on the glass defensively.

That being said, WVA is a very good offensive rebounding team, we will not see many teams better this year.

I see mentions of Sampson and Walker. Both a rather big.

At that time though didn't Trevor also have three fouls? It was a battle on the boards either way and Colt may have lost a few of those battles, but I would bet overall, without question, he won the war.

Agree with the Barreiro comments. Gaardsy, how can you listen to that guy for three hours a day?

And dude, how can you even look at him?

The photo on the top right is completely hideous.

Colt

Colt had a great game. He did have a 2 minute bad stretch.

First when W VA. was inbounding the ball under the Gopher hoop Colt turned his head and let Noreen slip in for a layup and he fouled him. After that there was a stretch where the Gophers got hammered on the boards and Colt coudnt hang on to the ball...

Gophers were jumping but not boxing out and W.VA was getting some boards. Order was restored when Trevor came back in. W.Va has some good rebounders themselves they played hard and they play hard for Huggy..
