Only Two Searching for a Win -- Week 7

Just two remaining teams still searching for their first Division I win (listed in order of today's RPI per CollegeRPI.com).

• NJIT 0-18 (341, was 336) - Independent (No Conference). Nobody can complain of an easy schedule, having played (and lost) to Penn, Columbia, Yale and Vermont. They're hosting Bryant (3-15 with an RPI of 309) on Wednesday and UMEastern Shore (3-10 with a 331 RPI) a week from Wednesday so they've got a couple of chances.

• Furman 0-13 (342 from 338) - Southern. They've recently lost to The Citadel, Chattanooga, Samford and Western Caroina. The immediate future looks grim (at Davidson and at Georgia South). However, they're hosting UNC Greensboro on 1/26 (week from today).

Off the list either this week or last are:

Mississippi Valley State - SWAC (RPI now 314 from 294): beat Alabama A&M 68-62 at home on 1/10 for their first win. (Have since lost to Alabama State and Alcorn State).
UNC Greensboro - Southern (316 from 333): Won a road game vs Appalaching State last week and another one at Elon Saturday.
Eastern Michigan - MAC (RPI of 323; was 308): After 2 OTs, beat Central Michigan 84-77 on 1/13. Then lost to Toledo there last Saturday.
NCCU - Independent (334 from 332): Beat UT-Pan American at home, 77-71 for their first win.
Alcorn State - SWAC (342; was 340): Beat Miss Valley State Saturday at home, 88-72.
