going off of rivals.com depth charts (which might be off on a player or two) iowa had 5 guys starting that were 2 stars or less, the gophers started 12 or 13 that were 2 stars or less.

Agree, which is why it is so vital that we get guys like Lewan, Paige, Gainer not to mention Carter, McNeal and any other talented players we can.

We're still facing some talent issues obviously. Robinson is already in the fold and it sounds like we're in good shape with Lewan, Paige, Gainer and Watkins.

Again, its all a process. the more athletes we get, the faster the process will go.

I agree with the OP. You know what wins the most football games? Talent. Not coaching, not discipline, not hustle, not luck. Talent. All of those other things are important but not more important than talent.

And that's true at nearly every level of football.

Stars are overrated..Football players arent.. Identifying tough, solid football players is a science a lot of programs havent developed yet.
