Sorry to inform everybody. I was on facebook a few minutes ago and from the look from Jon's status and the writings on his wall it looks like his father passed. The whole Hoese family is in my thoughts and prayers. God has a plan for everyone

Harsh.

Well that is really sad. What a terrible thing to have to deal with as a family. Turns the whole world upside down.

My thoughts are of course with them.

Thanks for the update. I'm old enough to have lost many people that were close and that I loved. It's never easy and you never get used to the grief. You just hope it passes. I hope the grief passes for his loved ones as well.

Jon,

What a great tribute you gave your Dad in your last football game. I'm sure he is looking over you right now and is very proud!

Very sad news. Looking forward to Jon running up about 20 TD's this year with the old man pushing from behind.

I hope Jon can hold it together. I'd hate for this to wreck Jon's senior year for football. Hopefully football, specifically Jon and the Gophers, are something the family can rally around for a few months.

It's going to be so incredibly easy to cheer for Jon this year, not like it was hard to cheer for him before as he regularly dropped the head and carried a couple defenders for three yards.

Post a note on caring bridge. No one will care if it is a memorable note. I have lost a mother and 2 brothers that were way too young to go. These notes do make a difference to the family.

My thoughts and prayers to the Hoese family.

I only just met Terry and Sharon last year at the final GLC luncheon. We spoke many times since. Terry was a bear of a man who loved his family, loved football, and loved corn. I learned more about corn in a 15 minute conversation with Terry than I had in the previous 50 years.

Last fall, when Jon was awarded the Bobby Bell Award as the team's outstanding special forces player and the Butch Nash Award for being competitive on the field and in the classroom, Terry wept openly.

Tough guy, big heart. We'll miss ya, buddy.

Just wanted to share a little bit more. Gopherfaith always has her nails done up for football days. She wore this one on her thumb Thursday at Murfreesboro.

Godspeed Terry...
