I talked to Rachel Banham the other day and will be posting a story on her soon. For those who don't know, she is a talented point guard who has committed to Minnesota. She was the the Pioneer Press Player of the Year and co-Star Tribune Player of The Year and led Lakeville North to a 32-0 mark and a Class AAAA State title.
She is a playmaker with great court vision. I called her the Tyus Jones of girl's basketball (or is he the Rachel Banham of boy's basketball).
Don't expect a ton of girl's basketball stories in the future, but I think she is the type of player who can help turn around the Gophers' fortunes.
