"I Am Not A Number, I Am A Free Man!!!"
That really sucks. Ricardo was a cool dude and McGoohan was one of my favorite actors of all time. The Prisoner was such a huge influence on me. I'm usaully not a sci-fi type of guy, but The Prisoner was just soooo cool. McGoohan blew away Bond.

I loved "The Prisoner". It was so different and fresh. Only 17 episodes were ever made. It was too far ahead of its time and audience.
Agent #6 could never figure out how to beat that dang giant bouncing beachball.

The Rover! They wanted to use a VW Beetle instead of the giant beachball (weather balloon)--glad they went with the weather balloon.

Does "The Prisoner" still appear anytime on TV. I believe the last episode I watched was in 1971. I would love to see it again.

I saw the vhs collection at the mpls. public library not too long ago. I'm sure they have the dvd's as well. You can also netflix them, but read the reviews as I seem to remember a few warnings about only one epsiode appearing on a disc. I bought the vhs collection years ago and still pull them out about every three years.

I always felt sorry for Montalban. I read a while ago that he suffered from chronic back pain due to an injury he suffered during an acting job. If you haven't seen the original Star Trek episode that he guest-starred on, make it a point. He was built like a shat brickhouse back then.
Someone has a thread about favorite movies. One of mine is Silver Streak, which starred Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor. But much of the appeal of the movie is the outstanding supporting cast, including McGoohan as the villain. It's sad to see him go.
