No matter what results from this search, it is nice to know that the police department is still working this horrific case, which any Minnesotan living here at that time will never forget:

Had some interesting tidbits:

they are strongly looking at the car that was reported at the scene but may have not been present. If the one guy last night checking out the scene then speeding away is legit, that explains the reports of said car. If that is established, and the creep was on foot, it almost has to be someone local, real local. The one "suspect" seems to be back in play. His parents were in Europe at the time, leaving him home alone directly adjacent to the scene. And if Van Pilsums recollection about the panty hose conversation is legit, it looks even more suspect.

I hope they find closure. It sure would be nice if they could solve the crime and bust the Jerk too.
