The NCAA would back a rule that schools cannot offer scholarships until after July 1st of the athletes junior year in college.

uhhh...

... that would be junior year in high school. Or this is not only the end of early verbals but the beginning of "too late" verbals.

Seems like this rule is aimed at eliminating the ridiculous verbals we've been seeing from high school freshmen and even eighth-graders. Personally, I applaud the move.
