Illinois and Cory Joseph will be a part of college basketball's opening night on Monday, Nov. 8. Both will take part in the first round of the season's first tournament, the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
First-round matchups for the Coaches vs. Cancer are:
Cal-Irvine @ Illinois
Navy @ Texas
Rhode Island @ Pitt
Seattle @ Maryland
No matter the results of the tournament's first two rounds, the Illini, Maryland, Pitt and Texas (pairings TBD) will meet in New York for the semifinals & finals/3rd-place game.
The Gophers reportedly will open the season Friday, Nov. 12, at The Barn vs. Noah Dahlman & Wofford.
