Do we even attempt to recruit in the south?

Yes I know they make token visits (everybody does) but is their any effort to renew aquaintance's with high school coaches or god forbid AAU staff. What about Ralph Sampsons old stomping grounds, how'd that well run dry so fast. Now our recruiting seems to be the state of Minnesota and anything within 300 miles from its borders or spring prep schoolers. Usually what you get out of something is relative to the effort you put in, I'm wondering how much effort was exerted.

Austin Hollins is from Memphis. That is in the South.

Gophers recruited others (Tim Hardaway, Glen Rice, et al) from GA and FL too.

Obviously. Although many do get overly hung-up on in-state recruits here.

Tubby had been out to see this kid a few months ago, I think there is family in the Twin Cities as well.. but Hunter Mickelson is apparently staying close to home and committed to Arkansas today. Good looking 2011 forward.

Today's THV tidbit
