St. Louis head coach Rick Majerus announced the signing of point guard Jordair Jett to a national letter of intent on Thursday.

Jett is a St. Paul, Minn. native who spent a post-grad year at Notre Dame Prep (Fitchburg, Mass.) last season where averaged a team-high 14.0 points to go along with 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists.

"Jordair Jett's signing gives us a highly competitive and tough-minded, physical player," Majerus said. "Jordair has the ability to become a fantastic defender as well as get to the rim and take it to you from the perimeter. His athletic ability excites us, as does his passion for the game. Jordair sees the floor well. He is unselfish and should frequently be able to get to the free throw line."

Jett joins 6-foot-5 forward Dwayne Evans (Bolingbrook, Ill. / Neuqua Valley), 6-foot-11 forward Rob Loe (Auckland, New Zealand / Westlake) and 6-foot-1 guard Mike McCall (Chicago, Ill. / Foreman) in Saint Louis' four-man class.

Rick knows what he's getting, on he'll of a ball player.

Verbal given a couple of weeks ago, as posted here on 4/17:

Jordair Jett heads back to the Midwest... gave a verbal to Rick Majerus and St. Louis yesterday. Congrats to the young man.

BTW, Jett's Notre Dame Prep team lost in the first round of the National Prep School Championship that was won by Brewster... earlier in the season, ND Prep and Brewster locked up in a great game - pretty good video highlights from that game are in the link below... #11 in white is Jordair.. #12 for Brewster is unmistakably Minnesota's Mo Walker. This is a Brewster fan's video so despite it being a very close game, the highlights make it look like a one-sided affair. #5 Will Barton... kid can play. Check out Walker dishing back to a cutting Barton at ~4:10 of the vid.

Brewster beats ND Prep - 11/2009
