Alive and well in CR. Thanks for thinking about us, It was a little spooky boys.

I was in Bagelman's (Akin to a Starbucks) using the Wi-Fi and having some lunch. My tray and food slid off the table, I was sitting next to the floor-ceiling window which started buckling so bad and I thought it was going to give. I looked up and was the ONLY one still in the place so I followed suit and ran my ass out into the parking lot where about 20 car alarms were blaring and bunch of ladies from the beauty salon next door were trembling and crying. Then it was over. They happen that fast.

The kid GopherInCostaRica (?) doesn't make it over to the off topic board too often but I'd guess he fine too. The quake was West of San Jose (The Capital) and he lives East of San Jose.

All in all not much damage done here in San Jose, out in the country is where the problems are. In order to get out there you have to drive thru the mountains. Lot's of "Watch for falling rocks" and "Watch for mudslides" signs. With a shake like this one it triggers falling rocks, mud slides, etc. That and many times the houses in the poor rural areas are nothing more than a shack and collapse easily.
