No kidding. Now that he has been proven to be quite a fool, he tucks tail and runs without even admitting how completely off he was in every sense. Fits right in with most of the Star Trib columnists, so in that sense, he's right where he belongs.

I can guarantee the spin from Souhan and Dodd will be something like:

"This was not a rumor; Tubby was in touch with Auburn officials; and very close to taking the job but some last minute disagreement on the deal terms could not be finalized"
