And congrats to "Wait!What?" who snared first place in the last game (and PtS event) of the 2009-10 basketball season. "Wait!What?" predicted a 69-62 Xavier win and was 12 points off the actual 65-54 points on the scoreboard.

Shown below are the top five finishers in today's competition:
1st Place: Wait!What? (12 pt variance - 15 points awarded in standings)
2nd Place: hyaluronic (13 pt variance - 10 points awarded in standings)
3rd Place: NUGGETT (15 pt variance - 7 points awarded in standings)
4th Place: coasterville (16 pt variance - 5 points awarded in standings)
5th Place: Southpaw (17 pt variance - 3 points awarded in standings)​
Also predicting a win by the Xavier Musketeers (I've almost slipped a couple of times and typed "Mouseketeers") were Section201, gopherbadgerman, and Bayfieldgopher. These three were more than 17 points off the actual score and each gains one participation point.

There were 38 who had predicted a Gopher victory and their only reward is being loyal fans and being able to recall getting to the NCAAs for the second straight year. It is somewhat sweet revenge on all the nay-sayers who had predicted an NIT berth or even some who said we'd not even qualify for the NIT. Rick, do you mean to say the LittleGopherFan did not predict a gloom and doom result? I am shocked, as he is the leader of the Educated and Realistic group.

Could be. Too much work to collect that info this year, but it's a good idea to consider and "efficiency factor" for next year.

Another suggestion I received was to recognize the number of correct picks during a season.

If there's a relatively easy and simple way to do these -- ie not taking a lot of time and easily calculated -- I'll see if I can enhance it next year.

You disappoint me, 201. ""I would crack open a cold Corona but I ran out."" Definitely a no-no. Thank goodness your wife will lend you one of hers, because an empty fridge is a terrible thing to waste.
 

Yup, thanks for putting this together!

One of my 2009 crown jewels is winning the 2009 FB championship and playing the BB pickem 3 times and hitting a 1st and 2nd out of three tries.
