Hopefully we will have a huge showing at Bootleggers on Thursday night for the 'Sota social and then pack the BC for the game on Friday and Sunday!

The sunny skies and 60-degree temperatures predicted for Milwaukee on St. Patrick's Day might trick some people into thinking winter is over, especially just three days before the first day of spring.

If so, the seven inches of slushy snow they could be cleaning up Sunday night will serve as a cruel reminder that this is still March and this is still Wisconsin.

A hovering jet stream to the north expected to blow across the Northern Plains and into Wisconsin is also expected to drop temperatures back into the 30s while raising the chances of spring-flavored snow Slurpees.

The National Weather Service in Sullivan said that high temperatures Friday should still reach into the upper 50s before hitting a maximum of 42 Saturday and 39 on Sunday.

"This is going to be an incredibly wet, slushy snow," Sullivan meteorologist Chris Franks said.

"Officially it's probably going to be more like four or five inches, but (seven inches) is not out of the question."

Unseasonably warm temperatures this week have boosted ground temperatures enough to slow snow accumulations early Saturday, Franks said.

But as temperatures remain in the 30s, the chances of snow and ice accumulation increase, especially on untreated roadways, Franks said.

The precipitation is expected to begin with a mix of rain and snow Saturday morning that will change to all snow by Saturday night, with accumulations of up to five inches possible.

Another two inches of snow could fall Sunday before clear skies and more seasonable temperatures settle in over the area next week, according to the weather service.

At what time will this prestigious and classy event be taking place on Thursday? I for one, and my dear MsGopher for another, would love to partake!

Where do we play our next round after Sunday? How long is the bus ride after we get snowed in for a few days in Milwaukee?

The 'Sota Social starts at 8 and runs officially until 10 but I for one plan on closing the place down that night.

A weekend weather forecast of up to seven inches of wet, slushy snow in the Milwaukee area has been scaled back to less than two inches. The new forecast from the National Weather Service in Sullivan calls for a mix of rain and snow that will begin early Saturday. It's expected to change to all snow on Saturday afternoon. There's a chance of more snow on Sunday, but accumulations should reach no more than 1¾ inches, according to the weather service.

The high temperature Saturday is expected to be near 38 degrees, followed by a Sunday high of near 41.
