'7. No team in this bracket has had to deal with more issues than No. 11 Minnesota. The Gophers thought they would have Royce White, Trevor Mbakwe and Al Nolen the entire season and be a potential Big Ten title contender. But Mbakwe and White never got a chance to play due to legal issues, while Nolen was bumped midway through the season due to academics. Still, the Gophers found a way to bookend the season with an early win over Butler combined with beating all the top Big Ten teams in Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Purdue. No. 6 Xavier is a trendy pick to advance into the Sweet 16, but if I'm looking for a double-digit seed in the bottom half of the West I'm going with No. 11 Minnesota.'

I know some people on here can't stand Katz, but if Tubby has something to report, Andy's his guy. Considering that and the fact he is one of the few that gives the Gophers some respect, he's okay by me.

Xavier fans coming onto a gopher board talking about how smart people who pick Xavier to the sweet 16 are while anyone who picks Minnesota is obviously dumb. Ok, have fun choking on DJ and Devoe all day

The kids coming on here from X do not represent all X fans. I saw that about Katz. I will be happy with a one point win.

As with any fan-board, you take the informed, sensible, types and add the crazed, trollish boneheads and mix them all up and get "a community" !!!

as a Xavier fan i think we will win a close game maybe a 5 point win. That said anyone who thinks Minnesota couldn't beat us is an idiot the Gophers have plenty of talent and some solid scorers in Westbrook and Hoffarber and some size inside as well.

Jeff Robbins loves us-

The Big Ten’s Cinderella team getting an No. 11 seed in the West after making it to Sunday’s Big Ten championship game, is the only conference team playing a higher seed in the first round.

And they are likely the only Big Ten team not to make it out of the first round, as Xavier is one of the more consistent early-round tournament teams around, winning at least one game each of last three years and looking to advance to its third straight Sweet 16.

The Gophers lucked out by landing in the relatively easy West region, but they won’t be able to cash in on that luck.

Minnesota fans can take comfort in the fact that the new Twins stadium opens in a matter of weeks, and also that the Vikings did not acquire washed-up running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who for the last two years has run with the power and speed of “Tootie” from The Facts of Life .

Odds of making Final Four: 200:1.

Silly me, but I do already know that. So I will change that excuse thing to 201..

201...You were born that way, so that is a good excuse. My excuse is my philosophy that cold anything is better than an empty fridge.

Remember...God is Great, Beer is Good, People are crazy.

GO GOPHERS!!!

Definition of jackass- Jeff Robbins resides in Madison, Wisconsin, and will attempt to write about all things Wisconsin, including the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and maybe, just maybe the Bucks, although he fears a severe drop in readership should he compose anything even remotely having to do with Wisconsin's least popular and least successful professional sports franchise. Jeff Robbins originally hails from the Twin Cities area and therefore may also drop references to the Vikings, Twins, the comedy team of Franken and Davis, Prince, Husker Du, Terry Gilliam or other things crucial to the lifeblood of Minnesotans.

Anyone that rates the Badgers chances of making the final four higher than Michigan State's is suspect in my book.

While he probably is biased, I would have to agree that the Badgers have a better shot at the Final Four than MSU. MSU would probably have to beat Kansas and/or OSU. Wisconsin would probably have to beat Kentucy and/or WVU.

Honestly, I think Wisconsin has a much better shot at frustrating Kentucky than MSU has against Kansas.

Perhaps. Call me crazy, but I'll take Izzo's tourney record over Bo's anyday of the week. In other words, I'll believe it with the Badgers when I see it.
