How soon into the game will Lawrence and Turner start barking at each other? I hope Lawrence shows some restraint this afternoon; it didn't work out so well last time he started trash-talking the Buckeyes (after we beat them at The Barn). The Buckeyes clearly were lying in wait for us in Columbus. I wouldn't advise pis*ing off the best player in the country.

All the Gophers have to do is Win, Baby, and the Westy/Turner saga will take care of itself. GO GOPHERS!!!

Especially after his post-game yesterday, when Turner said IL wouldn't shut up, kept talking trash, and it made him really want to take it to them...31 pts 10 rebounds is a line I don't hope to see today.
Everyone should keep their mouths shut, especially LW.

Pretty fun to even be discussing such a scenario! Turner is a stud.

I had forgotten these teams hate each other. That makes this afternoon's game that much more exciting. But, I agree, keep the mouths shut and let it play out on the court!

How about putting Damian (even tho he was not named to B10 defensive team) on Turner - and everyone else helping out.

Agreed. I'll wager that's the plan today...if there is ever a time for DJ to show what kind of a Defensive All-Star he is, it's today against the top player in the country!

We absolutely must have Iverson and RS3 play big, agressive and physical today. No easy buckets and a couple hard fouls will make Turner and Co think a little bit before driving to the rim. If they do, Westbrook will have the team back-up to support his tude' and our side of the feud.
As good as DJ is, my guess is we will see Westbrook or Joseph on him.

I wouldn't mind a little edge from Westbrook today... before the game in Columbus, Tubby scolded him and team and warned them to shuttup and play, or else... we came out looking tentative and tOSU stepped on our throats from the start.
Iverson's line against Ohio St this year... 36 mins, 4 points, 4 boards, 8 turnovers. He's playing juuust a little better recently.
Hopefully Turner repeats one of his statistics from yesterday - turnovers. He turned it over 9 times in the two games against us this year.. let's make it happen.
Colton's new attitude / improved play along with the Gophers looking to send the ball inside more often sure has made the difference. That plus Devoe's progression and Tubby calling out "me first players" has really turned this team around. They look like a total different team. Can't wait to see what happens this afternoon.

If I'm Tubby, Westbrook has the world's shortest leash today. After two really poor games, and given his history with Turner, I'd be careful. Actually, I suppose if I were Tubby Westbrook would rarely play at all... so, it's obvious that I am biased
But, Tubby knows more than I do, and I actually believe we will win this. If you'd have told me this a week ago, I'd have laughed in your face.

I wouldn't mind seeing Westbrook engage Turner in a fight...both get tossed...we'd come out better on that exchange...:-)

LOL and +1

That would be my strategy. I wouldn't take a chance on getting Johnson into early foul trouble.
