A little disappointed that he wouldn't give us consideration, but as I've stated, I'd rather have Heupel anyway. While Major would be good for recruiting in TX, Heupel is from SD and thus might be more inclined to stay a little longer before he makes the leap to an HC job. Plus, I can hardly think of anyone better to mentor Weber/Grey/Alipate.

Did anyone really think he'd leave Texas for the gophs, even if it was for an OC position? I'm not surprised whatsoever...In fact, I'm more surprised it took this long for the rumor to be shot down. I'm sure he'd rather bide him time under Mack Brown, and wait for an opening in the B12. Although it would have been sweet for him to come.
