than Harry Reid. See this:

Of all the people I have ever seen serve at a national level Reid is the lowest rat of them. What a jerk. At least Franken has the class to wait until the court settles this.

Right, spend millions more in court. It's time for "Stormin Norman" to tke a page from Al Gore's bio and bow out "GRACIOUSLY"

I agree that Reid's behavior is too agressive but, on a macro level, I don't think it compares to taking a country to war under false pretenses, engaging in torture, undermining the constitution by suspending legal rights. On a micro level, I'm not sure it compares to soliciting congressional pages while promoting family values.

That is just a couple of recent examples. To list them all would take up too much bandwidth.

I don't particularly like Reid either, but going over the top undermines your credibility as a poster, beej.

So didn't Coleman say if he were in Franken's position the day after the election that he would drop out?

Well he is, and off we go to court. Classy.

Taking a nation to war under false pretenses isn't a problem if leadership (from the president on down and nearly unanimously) believed the pretenses weren't false. Keeping the nation at war indefinitely once the pretenses were proven to be false is a problem.

I don't want to replay the "what is torture" debate, but we have not been re-attacked since 9-11 at least partially due to information we have gained from prisoners and against their will. If torture was used, it may have saved thousands of American lives.

What constitutional rights have been suspended? And were they US citizens?

"Soliciting pages while promoting family values" has been done by the scum in both parties.

So, I think jamiche's point is that it might be hyperbole to call Sen. Reid "the lowest rat" of all who serve at the national level.

There are plenty of others (from all parties) that would rate as "lower rats".

Sorry if I am misrepresenting your views, jamiche.

Both parties have more than their share of embarrassing twits and repugnant slimeballs. Harry Reid is certainly one of them...and in a leadership role at that.

Bush and Cheney cooked the books. The two of them should share cell with Madoff in the fraud wing of a federal prison.

Among other things, the Homeland Security Act trampled the right to privacy and the right to a fair trial. The movie "The Visitor", while fictional, depicts a side of this country that you and I don't see but very much exists.

You can't prove that those two cooked anything except ribs over a Texas BBQ. I'm extremely harsh on them for keeping us in what turned out to be an unnecessary war, but I don't fault them for taking us to a war that nearly everyone in Washington (both parties) agreed was necessary.

I think you're misreading the Homeland Sec Act. "Trampled the right to privacy" is a problem only if somebody is speaking to a suspected off-shore terrorist, no? And American citizens are not being denied the fair trials that our Constitution guarantees.

Honest questions....

Why wouldn't someone (Either side) demand a recount a vote is that close?

Why do the people calling themselves Republicans have such deep seeded hatred (I think it's fair to use the word hate) of Franken? He's never held office as I understand it so what is it he's done to muster such animosity?

Have you not heard the venom he's been hurling at conservatives and Republicans for years?

Right Wingers still haven't gotten over "Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot". Franken made a lot of dough on that book and it drives them nuts. Similarly, Franken did very well with his book about Bill O'Reilly. Starting with Bill Clinton, Republicans have been dishing out that kind of crap for years. Franken was the first liberal to give it back to them. Suffice to say, they couldn't handle it. As a matter of fact they have been cry babies about it. O'Reilly gets incoherent when he talks about Franken. I love every second of it.
