Goldy Gopher has resigned as the Gophers’ mascot to pursue other professional interests. The move was annouced via a release from coach Tim Brewster, who was traveling back to the Twin Cities after attending Monday’s Fiesta Bowl.
"What the hell....might as well start completely over from scratch including the mascot," said coach Brewster.
Brewster also mentioned that he will be conducting a national search for a new mascot starting immediately.
