Bryant Allen looked pretty good on the court tonight. I say the highlight of him shooting the 3. He logged some pretty good minutes.

Didn't look intimidated, displayed a pretty quick release, but the thing that jumps out is that he is frighteningly quick out there. Got in some good minutes. And he was pretty easy to spot with all the shaved heads out there.

It's good to see him get on the basketball court. He is probably the quickest guy at the University of Minnesota in any sport, and it's exciting to see him contribute in basketball and football.

Just in case you missed it, young Mr. Allen has some very good credentials as a basketball player at Maplewood-Richmond Heights in Missouri:

"led his team to back-to-back state championships... scored 25 points in the state championship game, including the game-winning layup with four seconds left after his team trailed by 19 points earlier in the contest..."
I liked his three pointer, but the highlight reel play was his thread-the-needle, fast break pass for an easy driving layup in the second half. Bryant Allen can play, no question about that. Watch out for a breakout year in football this fall.
