I say I would love them to get a young fast cornerback.

Franchise QB. No more projects without a great QB at the helm.

Offensive line is still their achilles heel. Without Favres pocket presence they would have had a ho hum year.

Very true but rookie O Linemen aren't much help.

I vote for lineman. I think Loadholt had a very good rookie year for the Vikes.

1. QB- Favre will be here one more year, tops. What then? Sage? T-Jack? God help us.
2. RG- Herrara was serviceable, but could be improved. Loadholt will develop into a good RT. I would say LT, but with all the money they have tied up in McKinnie, he's not going anywhere.
3. MLB/ OLB- After EJ went down, it was pretty obvious how thin the vikes are at LB.
4. S- Johnson had a major improvement over his rookie year, but if the vikes could land a stud at safety, it would do wonders for the pass defense.
5. CB- Winfield isn't getting any younger...

Now to the problem that the pack had for a few years not know if farve would be back. How to draft?

It should be QB, CB or S for the 1st round IMO. You don't draft a LB in the 1st just to add depth when we already have three solid LBs. I agree Herrara is not great, but there are positions of greater need for sure. I would draft a G and LB, just in later rounds.

Anyone think Winfield could make the move to safety? If the vikings think that's a possibility and he's not against it, I would take a CB.

I agree if we had a top ten pick you could go after Clausen or Bradford, but where we are picking in the first are you going to take Colt Mccoy, please don't say Tebow in the first? I am a bigger believer in taking a shot at one of those two if they fall to the third. If Favre returns, or if we get McNabb we are ready to win now, not wait 3 years for someone to develop. I say taking a corner who can cover is a better idea in the first. Griffin may not be ready and he's not the fast cover corner anyway.

Farve or McNabb is a very short-term bandaid that temporarily covers up the Vikings' inability to select and develop a star QB. It's high time they address this critical and obvious hole in their post-Farve lineup.

The biggest areas of need right now are Secondary, QB, and O line. I think one of the best moves would be to move up and grab either Bradford or McCoy. I think Clausen busts in the NFL and I don't see Tebow being a fanchise QB. If they go that way they have atleast a year under Farve to learn and grow. Barring that I would go to O Line, the Left side is fine but the Right side could use a little help. The best way to upgrade the secondary I think is to go to free agency, anyone else think letting Shaper go was a huge mistake. Any way the Vikes go they win they really because they don't have any huge holes to fill but a few little things to improve on.

I don't think they will have to move up to get McCoy.

I agree mcCoy will be there when the vikings pick. I'm not sure he is a first round talent. You could trade up in the second and probably get him. They could go corner in the first, and trade up and take mccoy in the top of the second? We need a fast corner. We don't have the money to get a fast good one in free agency.
