To those who criticize the current group of recruits, Rivals "RR" system rates this year's class, to date, higher than last year's. It doesn't have as many 4 star players, but only 3 recruits are rated below 5.6, and one of those is a kicker. Last year, 14 players were rated below 5.6, and in 2007 18 players were rated below 5.6.

Just curious - how many of Mason's recruits, on average, rated 5.6 or above? 2 or 3?

The RR system started in 2004. Between 2004 and 2007 the number of 5.6+ rated players recruited by Mason were:

2004: 1
2005: 1
2006: 4
2007: 4

The number of 5.6+ rated players recruited by Brewster last year, and also this year to date, is 15.

And there are eight guys this year who have a rating of 5.7, just .1 from being a four star recruit. We don't have as many 4 star guys this year but we have a lot of high 3 star guys. Across the board, I think it's more balanced this year. Not as many high end guys but not as many lower rated guys either.
