"I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president."

Barack Obama (yesterday or today - not sure which)

This can only have one interpretation: He's going for the same agenda that has got the American public so angry. He has decided not to listen. It would be better in his view to institute his type of transformational change than to go the Clinton route- ie change the agenda to achieve centrist status and popularity.

On the one hand I have to congratulate him. That takes courage. Now I would ask that he just is honest about what the agenda is- don't try to slip it through be honest and transparent.

On the other hand it is pretty painful to see how dedicated he is to moving down the socialistic and globalist path. How America reacts will determine our future.

Your obsession worries me, beej. You must average a couple of threads a day on the guy. If your business goes to hell, don't blame Obama or the economy. It's your GH/Obama addiction.

I don't see either of these goals as attainable at this point.

We may not be making as much as we were but we practice the principal of spending less than we earn so we should be okay. We have good people so I have a little time to enjoy a few threads a day with you.

Meanwhile rather than worry about me (which seems to be an obsession of yours) you'd best get your head out of the sand, wake up and see what is going on here. Time to move out of the past and get aware of the present.

I have a question for you, Beej. In view of your daily posts on President Obama's failings and transgressions, I am wondering if there is a better and more efficient way for Holers that disagree with you to keep up with your posts. I am finding it almost impossible to find the time that is necessary to respond to your misguided opinions. Any recommendations that you may have will be very much appreciated

Obsession is not a strong enough, or descriptive enough, word to descibe your relationship with Obama. I have no doubt that he is the first person that you think about when you wake up in the morning, and the last person that is on your mind when you go to sleep. Dare I ask how much time you spend dreaming about Obama? If I was your wife or girlfriend I think I would probably be a little bit jealous of all the attention you are giving Obama.

We live in amazing and changing times. Obama is in the news daily and is attempting to change our nation. Some are pleased. I'm not one of them. We should all read the news. It consumes surprisingly little of my day to post something about Obama from that news. This took about a minute. I have that to spare.

There seems to be an awful lot of minutes during the day that you spend on Obie. Don't take your eye off of the ball. If your business tanks you might go on unemployment, food stamps retraining, etc. and then you will be the object of G4's scorn. Get back to work, beej!! Now!

Beeg, I think you and I have found some common ground the past 2 years, especially on the way we're headed towards Socialism/One World Government/New World Order/Globalization. I only hope that after the boat rocks back toward the Republicans 2012 that you hold their feet to the fire on this issue. When GW Bush was steamrolling us towards the North American Union you were all for it and in fact mocked me for insisting that our National Soverignty was in danger.

I also recall RockRaven saying that I had been saying some things that sounded nuts for some time, that were in fact starting to unfold as I'd said they would. You went out of your way to challenge him to "NAME ONE!!!" Socialism/One World Government/New World Order/Globalization...that's one.

Why did you leave the U.S.?

Costa-We have some common ground on this one. That's where Obama wants to go. No doubt in my mind. I am not for a North American Union nor do I think Bush was for one in the way you do.
Bush was an American exceptionalist and got in plenty of trouble for it. Still we agree where the direction is right now.

I read too much Kerouac, Salinger, Hunter S & Hemingway. Made me wanna get "On the road" and have some adventures. I moved offshore to spend a winter in the Caribbean writing my novel and never went home.

Obama is bumbling around so much, you'd have to assume he wants to be a one-termer. He's in way over his head with bad advice all around him.

I suggest you give Anthony Bourdain's, Gone Bamboo a try if you haven't read it already. Not really an equal to the above mentioned, but I can see you liking it.

I've seen Anthony Bourdain's TV show a few times and liked it, so I'm sure I'd like his book. Travel, food & booze, what's not to like?
